We believe that there is nothing more important than our students; that
parent and community involvement are essential; that teachers must have
personal and career development opportunities that help inspire and
prepare students to be successful; that on-going communication among
stakeholders creates mutual trust and respect; that we cannot solely
depend on local, state and federal governments to fully meet our needs;
and that every constituency within the community has a stake in the
success of public and private education.
The Schools Foundation's leadership is made up of a twenty-seven
member board with representatives from throughout Huntsville City,
Madison County and the City of Madison. Parents, former teachers,
community leaders, active PTA members, corporate CEO's, retirees, and
members of the public and private sector all come together with a
common goal - making a positive difference in the educational
opportunities available to students in the public schools of our area.
The superintendents of each of the three systems served by the
Foundation serve as ex-officio members of the Board. A part-time
Executive Director, with a full time commitment to public education,
supports this all-volunteer board.
Members of the board represent a broad mix of people who care about the
future of not only our children, but of our community as a whole.
Stronger schools with diverse, well-funded programs are a foundation -
one that will last, and one that will continue to position Madison
County as a flourishing leader in the state; one that affords the
highest possible degree of educational opportunity for all of its
citizens.
