The Schools Foundation Profile

Impacting more than 50,000 students every day.

OUR VISION

The Schools Foundation’s vision is to be the driving force for educational excellence.

OUR MISSION

The Schools Foundation’s mission is to create higher expectations and widespread community support for Madison County schools, leading to world-class performance of principals, teachers and students.

The Schools Foundation is a 501c-3 non-profit organization supporting the three public school systems in Madison County, Alabama. The foundation serves as an advocate and leading organization for community engagement, as well as a vehicle for individuals and businesses to support public education. In 2000, the Huntsville City Schools Foundation and the Madison County Schools Foundation combined to form one education foundation to serve all three school systems in Madison County.

The Schools Foundation is one of the few education foundations in the United States that supports multiple school systems.

We believe: that there is nothing more important than our students; that parent, business, and community involvement are essential; that teachers must have personal and career development opportunities that help inspire and prepare students to be successful; that on-going communication among stakeholders creates mutual trust and respect; that we cannot solely depend on local, state and federal governments to fully meet our needs; and that every constituency within the community has a stake and deserves a voice in the success of public and private education.

OUR GOALS

1.  Work to advance education in public schools in Madison County

2.  Support initiatives that promote high expectations for professional leadership

3.  Work to ensure an engaged and involved community in order to create a strong sense of belonging, caring, involvement, and support.

4.  Develop pathways for cross district collaboration and support

5.  Develop and implement strategies for financial stability of the foundation and support of educational needs
