Operation Facelift: The State of Public Education
The Education Service In Action Initiative will host Education Summit II, Operation Facelift: The State of Public Education, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 2115 Winchester Road, Huntsville, AL, 35810.
This year’s summit will feature:
- 'The State of Huntsville City Schools' presented by Dr. Ann Roy Moore, Superintendent
- 'Living Today As If You Want To Be Employed Tomorrow' presented by Mr. Joseph Swerdzewski
- 'Operation Facelift: Rolling Hills Elementary School : The Partnership of Promise, Commitment and Results'
Break Out Sessions will include topics such as:
- Parent Involvement
- Impact of Poverty in the Classroom
- A Middle and High School Student Panel Discussion
- Gang and Drug Awareness
- (Adults Only) What to Look Out for As a Parent
- How to Prepare Your Child for College
The Summit will conclude with a report from each one of the breakout sessions identifying the issue and a personal commitment to be part of the solution.
