cfnaThe Character Foundation of North Alabama (CFNA) is sponsored by the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama and has a vision that "North Alabama will be a nationally recognized community of character." We believe "Our Character Matters" and that character is a crucial component of the community infrastructure. Improving the character for all our community is our goal.

As a key strategic objective and milestone to realize the above vision and create a "Community of Character" in North Alabama, the CFNA is planning the first annual North Alabama Community of Character Summit (NACCS) scheduled for February 6, 2016 at Columbia High School campus.  The objectives of the event are to educate attendees about the importance of character qualities using literature and artwork competitions and also through renowned speakers who represent high character standards. We also hope to build greater awareness of the Character Foundation of North Alabama.

The NACCS will be preceded by K-12 art and essay "character word" competitions within competitive age groups. Prizes will awarded to the top 3 in each category with modest scholarships awarded to high school seniors. During the event we will have several guest speakers speak on a variety of related topics. These guest speakers represent the best in character standards who have led successful careers by portraying and living to these high standards.

National Geographic's Student Expeditions invites students to get out into the field and follow in the footsteps of National Geographic's photographers, writers, and scientists in exciting destinations around the world.
Applications for these special sponsored expeditions will be accepted until March 1, 2016.
